Giuliano Obici

(Maringá, 1977)

Giuliano is an artist-reseacher interested on sound. Professor of Art Department at Universidade Federal Fluminense he holds degree in different areas (music, communication and psychology) and wrote the book “States of listening: medias and sound territories”. His artistic works has been presented at Relevante Musik (Berlin), Wien Modern (Vienna), Novas Frequências (Rio de Janeiro), Next Generation (ZKM Karlsruhe), 319 Scholes (New York), FILE (São Paulo), among others. In 2014 got the Giga-Hertz-Preis offered by ZKM (Karlsruhe) and Experimental Studio (Freiburg). As researcher he got grants from DAAD, CAPES and FAPESP and did presentations at the London University of the Arts, Norwegian Academy of Music, University of Art (UdK) and Technic University Berlin, Gotland School of Composition (Visby), Ultima Academy (Oslo) and diverse universities in Brazil. Last years its research is focus on audio and video interaction, gambiarra, sound experimentation as well as installations using found media, free software and hardware. With Alexandre Fenerich forms the duo Ene Minus One shortly n-1. Recent works include: Para Colorir Frequências, Synthetic Voices, Voices Simulacrum, Simulacrum Chamber Orchestra, Laptop Choral, Lan House Concert, BuyAuri.
