Herbert Baioco
(Serra 1988)
Herbert Baioco is a brazilian multimedia artist. Transits by contemporary art from the interest in silence, error, memory and vernacular technology and through the production of sound pieces, installations and performances. In 2015 he held his first solo exhibition, Teatro Estudio, in Vitoria, Espirito Santo.
In 2012 he was selected in Soundwalk sound poetry award in Lisbon, Portugal. He participated in 2013 the Sound Mmabolela artistic residence,in South Africa, under the guidance of artist Francisco López.

My artistic actions are triggered by everyday situations, an anecdote, which give rise to a site specific research that surrounds works as a force field.
Currently, my biggest interest is in the life dynamics that are already gone in memories of broken groups and displaced persons. One way of expression that persist over time is dealing with vernacular technology in forms of sound sculpture in approaching an intention of improvised music.
